Nikola Tesla’s patent for the turbine, also known as the Tesla turbine, was an innovative design for a type of engine that aimed to revolutionize the field of power generation. Tesla’s turbine was patented in 1913 and represented a departure from traditional turbine designs of the time. The Tesla turbine consisted of a series of smooth, parallel discs mounted on a central shaft. The discs had multiple small, closely spaced radial blades or vanes. These vanes were arranged in such a way that they allowed the flow of fluid, typically steam or gas, to pass through the turbine. The turbine did not rely on the use of traditional blades found in conventional turbines, which made it unique.
